In recent days, advertisements for the sale of burners operating on used motor oil from cars have appeared on social media, reports the Environmental Supervision Service.

The regional branch of this service in Bishkek and the Alamudun district has sent an official letter to local law enforcement agencies requesting to identify those who posted such advertisements.

The Environmental Supervision Service strongly recommended that citizens refrain from purchasing and using such devices.

“Used motor oil is classified as hazardous waste, and according to the legislation, it should be disposed of or recycled only in accordance with established rules. Burning such oil leads to the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere, which poses a serious threat to public health,” the official statement notes.

In cases of illegal burning, those responsible will face penalties in accordance with the law.
