Recently, there has been an increase in the use of conformity documents (such as certificates and declarations) in Russia, primarily for light industry goods, electronics, and children's products, issued in EAEU member states. Authorized bodies and business associations have reported that these documents are often issued without adhering to the necessary assessment procedures, including mandatory testing, as stated by the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.

The message emphasizes that the influx of such goods into the market significantly increases the risk not only of material damage but also of threats to health.

"According to EAEU law, customs authorities have the right to request additional documents or information from declarants to confirm the information specified in the goods declarations and other documents within the risk management system," the statement notes.

To reduce the risk of conflicts, the customs service recommends that declarants and other responsible parties approach the fulfillment of mandatory conformity assessment procedures and the use of documents issued to third parties with full responsibility," the message adds.

The Federal Customs Service of Russia also reminded that according to EAEU legislation and Russian law, customs authorities are tasked with protecting human, animal, and plant health, as well as safeguarding the environment.
