In the Sokuluk District, 1.4 tons of macrotomia roots subject to a moratorium were discovered with a Chinese citizen.

In the village of Tort-Kul, located in the Sokuluk district, a significant batch of macrothamia roots was discovered, which is a violation of current legislation. The operation was carried out by employees of the Chui Regional Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, inspectors from the Ecological Supervision Service, and officers from the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).

According to the information from the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the total weight of the seized roots amounted to 1425 kilograms. It has been established that this plant raw material belongs to a citizen of China who has been living in Kyrgyzstan for about ten years.

The seized roots were transferred to the Sokuluk District Internal Affairs Department in accordance with established procedures.

It should be noted that endik-chöp (macrothamia) is classified as a species whose collection is temporarily prohibited under current legislation. The moratorium on the collection of macrothamia will last until January 1, 2027.
