In social networks of Kyrgyzstan, a video appeared showing a young man tearing a 50 som bill to find out if he could buy something in a store with damaged money. In subsequent footage, he claims that he was able to purchase a drink with that money. This video sparked widespread public outcry.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Service for Countering Extremism and Illegal Migration, as well as the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Lenin District, identified the young man. He turned out to be S.A., born in 2002. During the investigation, it was revealed that he is in the country illegally.
The foreigner faces deportation from Kyrgyzstan.
The police remind that actions aimed at insulting state symbols or violating migration norms may entail legal responsibility under the country's legislation.
