The investigation established that police lieutenant colonel M.Zh.A., who works as an inspector in the permit system of the Public Security Service in the Aravan district, and police major S.A.Sh., an investigator with the Investigative Service of the Internal Affairs Department of the Nookat district, attempted to obtain 300,000 soms from a resident of the Osh region. They intended to use this money to secure a favorable decision in a case being handled by the investigator.
On November 22, GKNB employees, together with the Internal Investigations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Osh and the Osh region, detained the suspects at the crime scene while they were receiving a bribe of 300,000 soms. One of the detainees attempted to destroy part of the money by throwing it into the toilet.
The investigation is currently ongoing to identify other possible accomplices.
