On November 8, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the detention of a suspect in bribing voters.

Employees of the Service for Combating Extremism and Illegal Migration discovered that one of the candidates for a seat in the Jogorku Kenesh was ready to pay people for their votes in the upcoming early elections on November 30. To discuss this issue, the candidate organized a meeting at a teahouse on Bayalinov Street in Bishkek.

This incident was registered under Article 196 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic ("Bribery of Voters' Votes").

On October 24, more than 15 people gathered at a café, who, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, actively participate in public life and are respected among local residents. The meeting lasted until half-past nine in the evening, after which the suspect paid the bill, spending 19,300 soms. The investigation claims that the candidate promised money for votes.

All those present were taken to the Investigative Service of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek, and the suspect, born in 1980 and named K.S., was arrested. On November 7, he was released on a signed undertaking not to leave.

According to data from the CEC website, the initials K.S. correspond to the candidate for district No. 3, Kurvanbaev Suyunbek Burkanidinovich, born on July 8, 1980, and who is the director of LLC "Al-Laziiz."
