During the investigation initiated under Article 196 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic ("Bribery of Voters"), it was revealed that close relatives of A.L., a candidate for a deputy mandate in the Jogorku Kenesh, were involved in the bribery. In particular, her daughter I.S.M., born in 1988, and her nephew T.Sh.K., born in 1998, came under scrutiny.
According to the Main Internal Affairs Directorate, an amount of 360,000 soms was transferred to L.A.'s election headquarters, intended for bribery. The suspects received instructions on organizing the scheme and worked with voter lists.
On November 26, they were charged under Article 196 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning bribery of votes committed by close relatives of the candidate. As a result, they were arrested in absentia and placed on the wanted list. The investigation is currently ongoing.
