According to information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on November 25, individuals suspected of corrupt actions and issuing unlawful court decisions have been detained in the case of taxi driver Kumarbек Abdyrov.

Kumarbек Abdyrov, a 41-year-old taxi driver, is accused of committing several rapes and murders of young women, including an attempted murder of a 21-year-old woman in 2015.

During that incident, Abdyrov was arrested, and the first-instance court sentenced him to 12 years in prison. However, in 2016, the Bishkek City Court, consisting of judges Sanit Branchayeva, Zhanil Mambetaly, and Kaysyn Abakirov, reduced the sentence by reclassifying the crime to "robbery" and shortening the punishment to 7 years. Later, in 2018, Abdyrov was granted amnesty, and in September 2025, he was detained again on suspicion of raping and murdering 17-year-old Aysulu Mukasheva, who lived in Barskoon in the Jeti-Oguz district.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during the interrogation, Abdyrov and his relatives reported a corruption scheme that, according to them, facilitated his release from punishment. As part of this scheme, the agency reported that prosecutor D.M. and lawyer S.Z., who has already been detained and placed in custody, were involved.

Former judges have been charged under Article 336 ("Corruption") and Article 352 ("Issuing an unlawful sentence or other judicial act") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, while the prosecutor has also been charged under the same Article 336. All detainees are in custody.
