It became known that a local resident, citizen E. A., approached the internal affairs department, reporting the purchase of four plots of land in the Chety-Bulak quarter in August 2024. He paid 1 million 540 thousand soms to citizens T. A. and N. D., who reside in Batken and the Batken district, respectively.
However, when E. A. began construction on one of the purchased plots, an unfamiliar woman approached him and claimed that the plot belonged to her. This made the man realize that he had become a victim of a fraudulent scheme.
Based on these events, a criminal case was initiated under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning fraud.
As a result of operational-search activities, 66-year-old T. A. and 41-year-old N. D. were detained, and they are currently in a temporary detention facility. Investigative actions are ongoing.
The city internal affairs department of Batken warns citizens against participating in illegal property transactions and recommends carefully checking documents when purchasing land plots and real estate. Law enforcement agencies also urge anyone who has fallen victim to the aforementioned individuals to contact the Internal Affairs Department of Batken city.
