Employees of the Department for Combating Extremism and Illegal Migration of the Internal Affairs Directorate of Batken Region recorded a case of illegal transportation of medications.

According to the press service, a 38-year-old individual, I. L., a resident of the village of Jany-Jer in the Leilek District, was detained while attempting to illegally transport pharmaceutical products. He had previously made arrangements with a citizen of a neighboring country, known as "Abdumalik," to transport the medications through neutral territory with the aim of delivering them to the city of Osh.

On October 29, when I. L. was loading the drugs into his "Toyota Estima," he was stopped by police at the checkpoint "Razvилка" in the Batken District. Upon inspection, it was revealed that he did not have the necessary documents for the transported medications.

As a result of the search, the police discovered medications worth 3 million 2 thousand 814 soms, some of which were not registered in Kyrgyzstan and had not undergone quality assessment.

In this regard, I. L. was held criminally liable under Article 231 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic ("Economic Smuggling") and placed in a temporary detention facility.

Currently, investigative actions are ongoing.
