On November 21, the Council of Judges approved a proposal to bring criminal charges against three former judges of the Bishkek City Court.

Attorney General Maksat Asanaliev submitted a request to hold the former judges of the judicial panel on criminal cases and administrative offenses accountable, namely B. S. I., Zh. M., and A. K. K. A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of crimes provided for in parts 1 and 2 of Article 336 "Corruption," paragraph 2 of part 3 of Article 342 "Receiving a bribe," paragraph 2 of part 2 of Article 343 "Extortion of a bribe," as well as other articles of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic related to bribery and rendering unlawful decisions.

After hearing the report and discussing the conclusion of the disciplinary commission, the Council of Judges decided to satisfy the Attorney General's request.

The names of Branchayeva Saniya Izmailovna, Zhanil Mambetaly, and Abakirov Kaysyn Kadyrovich, as indicated by their initials, correspond to the data of the former judges who were mentioned in the ElTR report about Kumarbek Abdyrov, who is accused of the rape and murder of 17-year-old Aysuluu.

It is worth noting that Abdyrov already had a criminal past. Ten years ago, he attacked a girl, raped her, and attempted to kill her by throwing her into a canal and dropping a stone on her from above. Fortunately, the victim survived. In 2016, the court sentenced him to 12 years in prison, but later the panel of the Bishkek City Court reduced the sentence to 7 years.

In 2018, he was released early under an amnesty. The judges who mitigated his punishment were subsequently dismissed as part of anti-corruption investigations.
