Two residents of the capital contacted law enforcement with reports of bicycle thefts. According to one of them, his bicycle was stolen on October 14 at 21:47 while it was parked near a store on Ryskulov Street. The other victim reported that his bicycle went missing on October 21 around 15:30 on Deng Xiaoping Avenue.
Surveillance camera footage shows a young man circling the bicycle, assessing the situation, and then riding away on it.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with these facts under Article 205 ("Theft") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As part of the "Thief!" operation, which runs from November 6 to 15, a suspect identified as K.A., born in 1976, was detained. He is currently under a travel restriction.
Investigative actions are ongoing.
