In the Jeti-Oguz district, law enforcement agencies have detained five men suspected of stealing three yaks. This was reported by the press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region.
The incident became known on October 24, 2025, when the police received information about the theft of yaks in one of the valleys of the district. As a result, an investigation was initiated.
On the following day, October 25, a resident of the village of Barskoon, born in 1987, named A.K., approached the police. She reported that on October 24, around 12:30 PM, in the Karakolka valley at the pasture "Kaz uya," five unknown individuals shot and stole three of her yaks. When the woman tried to intervene, the criminals hurried to escape. The damage from the theft amounted to 600,000 soms.
Law enforcement officers, conducting operational activities, were able to detain the suspects on the Kumtor–Barskoon highway, near the Sary-Moynok post. The men were traveling in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and attempted to flee from the police but were apprehended.
The detainees were:
Ch.K., born in 1989, a resident of the village of Barskoon;
E.D., born in 1987, a resident of the village of Kichi-Jargylchak;
I.I., born in 2005, a resident of the village of Kichi-Jargylchak;
A.S., born in 1993, a resident of the city of Karakol;
S.S., born in 2004, a resident of the village of Kyzyl-Suu.
A criminal case has been initiated in this matter under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning theft. During the preliminary interrogation, the detainees admitted their guilt. The district court has decided to arrest them.
The investigation is ongoing.
