In the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region, a celebration was held dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the village of Kytai, which is part of the Jeti-Oguz rural district.

According to the district mayor Ermek Bakavidinov, the celebration took place on October 25. The village was founded in the 1920s with the support of Torokul Aitmatov and was named "Kytai ayily." During the Soviet era, the name was changed to "Komsomolskoye," but among the local residents, the old name continued to be used. In 2024, the village will regain its historical name.

Kytai is considered one of the oldest Kyrgyz clans, from which many famous personalities emerged, such as the legendary hunter Kozhozhash Mergen, poets Jengizhok and Esenaman Yrch, akyn Aydaraly Jörgölök, as well as well-known cultural figures Torokul and Chyngyz Aitmatov, Cholpon Tüleburdiev, Abdylaas Maldybaev, and Tügölbay Seyitaliev.

Today, about 160 households live in the village. Local residents work in government institutions, engage in agriculture, animal husbandry, and entrepreneurship. New schools, a sports hall, a mosque have been built in Kytai, and water supply has been established and roads have been repaired.
As reported by the head of the Jeti-Oguz rural administration Urmat Dokoev, the initiative to organize the anniversary belonged to the local residents. During the celebration, active participants who made significant contributions to the development of the village were awarded Certificates of Honor and received titles of "Honorary Citizen of the District" and "Pride of the People."

The festive events included the unveiling of a bust of Torokul Aitmatov, sports competitions, national games, an exhibition of yurts, and demonstrations of traditional customs.
