She was born in the Ak-Suu district, and her husband, Tilek Kenzhebaev, hails from the village of An-Östön, located in the Jeti-Oguz district.
“Previously, we earned a living by taking care of livestock for various people, and then we worked in the Tyup district. We spent the summer in Przhevalsk, where we rented accommodation. Unfortunately, this year a tragedy occurred — a metal object injured my husband's leg, and it had to be amputated,” Tolkunai said.
To support her family, she went out to the fields, looked for work at the employment office, and gathered garlic without gloves. This work allowed her to support her husband; however, unfortunately, she suffered from poisoning, and now her hands are seriously injured, making further work impossible,” she shared.
She also noted that her husband has no documents other than his birth certificate, and her own passport has expired.
“In recent days, local authorities, social services, and kind-hearted people have started to help us, for which we are very grateful. Nevertheless, I am worried about who will take care of my husband,” Tolkunai added.
Tilek Kenzhebaev, her husband, noted that after the accident, his wife became the sole breadwinner, but now she is also ill. Additionally, their house is in a state of emergency and could collapse at any moment.
