The Village of Bosteri
Bosteri – a popular resort village
Bosteri is a village in the Issyk-Kul District of the Issyk-Kul Region of Kyrgyzstan. It is located on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul, 8 km east of the district center, the city of Cholpon-Ata, and 255 km from Bishkek on the northern shore of Issyk-Kul. The village is situated near the highway connecting Cholpon-Ata with Karakol.
Bosteri is a popular resort village, home to a large number of hotels, guesthouses, sanatoriums, and private homes available for rent. Well-maintained beaches, excellent infrastructure, and local attractions make Bosteri one of the best places for relaxation. Additionally, there are various shops, grocery stores, and a market.
As you approach the village, you can see its main attraction – a giant Ferris wheel. This attraction allows you to rise above all the nearby sanatoriums, guesthouses, and beaches, where hundreds of people are relaxing, while simultaneously enjoying the beauty of the Kyrgyz mountains covered with eternal snow, and peering over the smooth surface of Lake Issyk-Kul, where the snowy peaks also sparkle on the opposite shore. The Ferris wheel makes a complete turn in almost half an hour. An incredibly beautiful view of the surrounding landscapes opens up from the height of the Ferris wheel, which is located close to the water's edge.
In addition to the large Ferris wheel, Bosteri features the most modern water park on the entire shore of Lake Issyk-Kul. Here you can find roller coasters, boat rides on the lake, and in the evenings, lively beach parties are organized.
It is considered that the most popular guesthouse among young people is "Golden Sands," which houses the famous water park.
Next to the guesthouses is one of the largest health resorts in the republic, "Kyrgyz Seaside." Favorable living conditions, comfort, a combination of traditional and modern treatment methods, the latest equipment, and high-quality service attract residents from different regions of the republic. For those looking to improve their health, the sanatoriums in Bosteri offer a wide range of therapeutic and wellness procedures: therapeutic mud, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, speleotherapy, and much more.
Bosteri is also famous for its market, which operates weekly on Saturdays and Sundays. At the market, you can buy juicy vegetables and fruits grown in nearby fields and gardens, as well as a variety of souvenirs and gifts from local artisans. In Bosteri, Wi-Fi is available at the central market.
Most guesthouses offer packages of various classes, allowing travelers with different financial capabilities to relax on the shores of Issyk-Kul. Among the village's guests are tourists who wish to stay in private accommodations, which provide seclusion and tranquility. Such conditions are often preferred by elderly couples and families with small children.
