The reason for the pause in musical activity was the mandatory military service that all members of the group, except for Suga, who was called up last, had to complete. Currently, all other members of the group have already finished their service.
The group previously hinted at their return date with the phrase "2026.03.20" in letters to their fans — ARMY, which were sent out by mail.
The New Year was celebrated by BTS members together with fans in a live stream on the HYBE Weverse platform.
Kim Namjoon (RM) and Kim Taehyun (V) were the first to return from the military in June.
BTS began their career in 2013 under the BigHit Music label, which is now part of the media holding Hybe. In June 2026, the group will celebrate 12 years since their debut.
