Starting from January 20, 2026, Federal Law No. 257-FZ dated July 23, 2025, comes into effect, which introduces changes to the procedure for crossing the border for minor citizens of Russia.

What's New

According to the new regulations, a birth certificate will no longer be accepted as a valid document for traveling abroad. These changes apply to the trips of minor Russians to the following countries:

Starting January 20 of next year, either a domestic passport of the Russian Federation (if it has already been issued) or a child's foreign passport will be required to cross the border.
