Kyrgyz citizens reminded of new rules for crossing the border of Lithuania

From October 29 to November 30 of this year, the government of the Republic of Lithuania has decided to temporarily close two border points: "Mėdininkai" and "Šalčininkai," which are located on the border with Belarus.

In light of these measures, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic strongly recommends that its citizens currently in Lithuania plan alternative exit routes in advance, taking into account the existing restrictions.

The "Mėdininkai" point will operate in a limited format, allowing border crossing only for diplomatic staff, individuals delivering diplomatic mail, as well as citizens of Lithuania, EU countries, and foreigners with residence permits or humanitarian visas. The complete closure applies to the "Šalčininkai" point.

According to Lithuanian authorities, there is currently a gathering of foreign citizens, including citizens of Kyrgyzstan, awaiting the opportunity to cross the border into Belarus.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan urges citizens to refrain from participating in unauthorized actions and other forms of expressing discontent related to the imposed restrictions.

If necessary, Kyrgyz citizens can contact for consular assistance at the following "hotlines":

Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the KR: +996 999 312 002

The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Belarus (Minsk): +375 25 904 54 10,
