According to the information from the ministry's press service, this requirement is established by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated December 14, 2023, No. 678, concerning the licensing of certain types of activities.
Among the medical devices for which a license is required for sale are products such as glasses, contact lenses, and hearing aids, as well as other registered medical devices in the country.
The key aspects of the new resolution include:
- the obligation to obtain a standard license for the legal retail sale of medical devices;
- licenses will be issued by the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- selling without a license is considered a violation of the law, which entails administrative responsibility.
The Ministry of Health strongly recommends that entrepreneurs:
- familiarize themselves with the regulations concerning licensing;
- contact the licensing department for medical and pharmaceutical services in advance to obtain consultations on the necessary documents and the application process.
The ministry emphasized that timely licensing helps avoid fines and guarantees the legal operation of enterprises in the field of medical devices. "Knowledge of the law will help minimize risks and comply with all requirements," the Ministry of Health added.
Furthermore, the ministry noted that not all entrepreneurs are aware of the new requirements, which may lead to violations. "However, ignorance of the law does not exempt one from responsibility," the representatives of the ministry emphasized.
