Citizens can seek medical assistance at Primary Care Centers (PCC) or Family Medicine Centers (FMC) as part of the state guarantee program. Access to assistance does not depend on the availability of insurance. However, to receive all necessary services, it is important to be registered with a family doctor at the FMC or PCC in your place of residence and to have a referral from the attending physician.
Free medical services include:
- disease prevention;
- diagnostics, which covers the doctor's appointment and consultation, interpretation of tests, provision of emergency care, prescription of treatment, as well as referrals for examinations or hospitalization;
- performing up to 12 basic laboratory and diagnostic tests when medically indicated;
- administering medical injections without the need to provide medications and materials.
For insured individuals, the doctor may additionally prescribe:
- up to 42 types of laboratory tests (when indicated);
- ultrasound and X-ray with a 50% discount;
- day hospital services (intravenous drips) with a 50% discount (without providing medications);
- electronic prescriptions for discounted medications under the Additional Compulsory Health Insurance Program with discounts of up to 50% (when indicated), which can be purchased at pharmacies cooperating with the MHIF.
