According to the data from the STEPS-2023 study, 75.9% of residents in Kyrgyzstan do not meet the minimum recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding the consumption of fruits and vegetables.

Moreover, about 20.8% of citizens regularly add salt to their food, while more than two-thirds of the population (68.3%) do not engage in physical activity. This figure among women is an impressive 92.8%.

Experts emphasize that low consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables, high salt content in the diet, and lack of regular physical activity significantly increase the likelihood of developing cardiovascular and other non-communicable diseases.
