The recent visit of the Minister of Health Erkin Checheybaev to the Kyrgyz Scientific Research Institute of Resortology and Rehabilitation became an important event. This institution holds leading positions in the country in the field of scientific research and rehabilitation assistance.
During his visit, the minister familiarized himself with the work of the key departments of the institute, including neurology, vertebrology, orthopedics, and rehabilitation. These departments provide medical assistance to patients recovering from strokes, injuries, and surgeries, as well as those suffering from musculoskeletal disorders and neurological disorders.
The minister paid special attention to the scientific and methodological direction of the institute's work, emphasizing its role as a center of competence in rehabilitation. He noted that the institute should provide scientific and methodological support to regional centers.
“We must ensure that the institute is not just a medical facility but becomes a flagship in the field of science and education, uniting the rehabilitation services of the country,” stated Erkin Checheybaev.
The head of the ministry emphasized the need for systematic development of rehabilitation, integration of scientific potential, and application of modern approaches in rehabilitation treatment.
He also highlighted the importance of developing rehabilitation programs for children with autism spectrum disorders, noting that this area requires special attention and the implementation of scientifically justified methodologies.
“Rehabilitation should not be viewed as an additional service. It is an important part of modern treatment. State institutions should be interested not only in medical assistance but also in the full recovery of individuals,” emphasized Erkin Checheybaev.
Topics of methodological support for other rehabilitation centers, updating approaches to training specialists, and creating a unified scientific and practical platform were also discussed during the meeting.
At the end of the visit, the minister issued a number of specific instructions:
- To actively participate in the development of the Rehabilitation Development Concept, which the Ministry of Health is currently working on. The institute is tasked with presenting its scientific and methodological proposals and recommendations for forming strategic directions and performance indicators for the development of rehabilitation services, with an emphasis on assisting patients with autism and other developmental disorders.
- To enhance scientific research in the field of resortology and rehabilitation, implementing modern rehabilitation methods.
- To organize training and professional development for specialists in the field of rehabilitation, including pediatric and neurorehabilitation.
“The Kyrgyz Scientific Research Institute of Resortology and Rehabilitation has significant potential. Its activity determines the development of the entire rehabilitation assistance system in the country. The ministry is ready to support, but only with the presence of initiative and concrete results,” added Minister Erkin Checheybaev.
