Deputy of the State Council of Tatarstan Rinat Valiullin noted that assistance was provided to compatriots in the process of legalization in cooperation with the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. National and cultural autonomies also played an active role in this process, offering consultations and assisting with document processing.
According to the report from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tatarstan, since the beginning of the current year:
- 85 temporary residence permits have been revoked (106 in 2022);
- 386 residence permits have been canceled (350 in 2024).
All migrants who have lost their permits must now leave the territory of Russia. Violators face deportation and a ban on entry for up to 10 years.
According to the Federal Bailiff Service, in the third quarter of 2025, 831 foreigners were expelled, and a total of 869 since the beginning of the year. Currently, 191 individuals are in a special detention facility.
The largest number of expelled individuals are citizens of Turkmenistan (65 people) and Uzbekistan (53 people).
Since October of this year, the Center for Social and Cultural Adaptation of Foreign Citizens of the Republic of Tatarstan has begun offering free Russian language courses for migrants, which are conducted online twice a week.
