In Kyrgyzstan, a draft law has been presented that proposes a ban on traveling abroad for citizens under the age of 18 for the purpose of obtaining religious education. This draft law amends four key documents: the Code on Children, as well as the laws "On External Migration," "On Education," and "On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations."

The draft law also stipulates that parents or other individuals who send minors abroad for religious training will be held accountable under the legislation on offenses.

Furthermore, the document proposes to enshrine this ban in migration and educational legislation, with the aim of protecting children from the influence of "non-traditional" religious movements that may be foreign to the culture of Kyrgyzstan.

The draft also includes additional amendments, including the creation of a state register of entities engaged in religious activities, clarification of the rules for registering religious organizations, and monitoring of religious materials on the internet and in the media. Additionally, mandatory approval of Islamic financial products by state bodies for religious affairs will become a new requirement.

The draft law has been published for public discussion by the National Agency for Religious Affairs and Interethnic Relations.
