According to the draft, educational institutions offering higher and additional education programs in medicine will be required to undergo state accreditation. Licenses for educational activities in the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals will be issued exclusively by an authorized state body.
The draft also outlines a special status for the leading state medical university, which will be granted exclusive rights to train specialists with higher medical and pharmaceutical education, as well as to retrain and improve the qualifications of medical and scientific personnel. This university will develop and approve state educational standards in medicine.
Amendments to the law "On the Protection of Citizens' Health" clarify the powers of the Ministry of Health, which will formulate state policy in the field of medical education, control the quality of personnel training, and approve internship and residency programs.
Furthermore, the draft law amends the Law "On Science," allowing scientific institutions in the field of healthcare to carry out their activities based on mandatory state accreditation established by the cabinet of ministers.
The developers of the law emphasize that its adoption is aimed at improving the quality of medical education, strengthening state control over the training of doctors and scientific personnel, as well as aligning legislation with international standards in the field of healthcare.
