The tariff exemption for the import of electric vehicles will come into effect on January 22, 2026.
This benefit will apply to both "pure electric vehicles" (code 8703 80 000 3 of the EAEU Foreign Economic Activity Commodity Nomenclature) and "plug-in hybrids" (code 8703 80 000 5 of the EAEU Foreign Economic Activity Commodity Nomenclature) that will be imported into Kyrgyzstan.
Also, starting from January 22, 2026, changes to the Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity of the Eurasian Economic Union will come into effect, concerning certain categories of vehicles. These changes are based on the decisions of the EEC Council dated December 23, 2025 (number 110) and the EEC Board dated September 23, 2025 (number 81).
It is important to note that tariff benefits and quotas for the import of electric vehicles will not be in effect until January 22, 2026, although they were previously not applied from January 1, 2026.
The State Customs Service strongly recommends that all participants in foreign economic activity take this information into account when planning the import of electric vehicles into the country.
