Starting from January 22 of next year, a tariff exemption for the import of electric vehicles will come into effect in Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and Belarus. This decision was announced in a press release from the Eurasian Economic Commission, following a meeting of the intergovernmental council of the Eurasian Economic Union in Moscow.

During this meeting, the heads of government of the participating countries discussed the provision of preferences, which involve exemption from customs duties on electric vehicles imported into the specified states starting in 2026. This measure applies to "pure electric vehicles" (code 8703 80 000 3 of the EAEU Customs Tariff) with a quota of 20,000 units for Belarus, as well as "pure electric vehicles" and "plug-in hybrids" (code 8703 80 000 5 of the EAEU Customs Tariff), with a quota of 15,000 units for each country, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
