In 2026, it is allowed to import 15,000 electric vehicles into Kyrgyzstan duty-free.
This decision was made at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held on December 11, 2025, where issues of cooperation among EAEU countries were discussed. Previously, Kyrgyzstan had a quota of 10,000 electric vehicles. The exemption from duties applies to "pure electric vehicles" (code 8703 80 000 3 of the EAEU Customs Tariff) and "series hybrids" (code 8703 80 000 5 of the EAEU Customs Tariff).
Citizens of Armenia and Belarus will also be able to take advantage of similar conditions, with the opportunity to import up to 15,000 and 20,000 electric vehicles, respectively. However, the benefits apply exclusively to citizens permanently residing in these countries, with certain restrictions on the transfer of ownership and use of vehicles to other EAEU residents.
According to the agency, this decision is aimed at developing environmentally friendly transport and creating more accessible conditions for citizens of EAEU countries.
