At a recent meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the EAEU, held on December 11, the countries failed to reach an agreement on strengthening control over the import of cars. This was reported by "Kommersant".

According to a source from the publication, discussions on deepening integration among the member states led to disagreements. Kazakhstan proposed tightening control over cars purchased by individuals at electronic auctions. However, this proposal met with strong opposition from Kyrgyzstan, which argued that it contradicts the principles of integration within the union. As a result, the issue will be referred to the level of the presidents.

Additionally, a report on unified risk indicators for undervaluation of customs value for expensive goods from other countries was not adopted, which also faced objections from Kyrgyzstan. Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin noted that work in this area has already generated additional revenues for the budgets of the union countries amounting to $75 million in customs duties and over $600 million in VAT.

Nevertheless, despite the existing disagreements, all countries supported the common prospects for integration. The head of the Kyrgyz government, Adylbek Kasymaliev, emphasized the importance of expanding trade by utilizing access to new technologies.
