At the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Moscow, the prospects of the goods labeling system using identification means within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union were discussed. This information was presented by the Eurasian Economic Commission.

As a result of the discussions held at the summit of the heads of state of the EAEU in June 2025, key directions for further development were identified. The main tasks included integration based on the EEC information platform and technological modernization of the labeling system, as well as strengthening control over the legality and safety of goods through interaction with other national regulatory systems. An important aspect was also the fine-tuning of processes to ensure the free movement of labeled goods within the union.

Work is planned to continue on the EAEU information systems responsible for data exchange on labeled goods and requests for obtaining labeling codes.

In addition, one of the priorities for the EEC will be the development of coordinated approaches and mechanisms aimed at preventing the labeling of goods that do not have confirmed legality of import or production, as well as those that do not comply with the union's technical regulations.

The Minister for Trade of the EEC, Andrey Slepynev, noted: “The goods labeling system using identification means in the EAEU is already fully operational. The next stage is to further improve processes for more effective combat against counterfeit products. First and foremost, it is necessary to strengthen the role of the labeling system in controlling the safety of goods and their legality when they are put into circulation.”
