During the meetings, the parties discussed numerous issues related to further strengthening bilateral relations, covering political, economic, and transportation spheres. They also reviewed joint projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and cultural interaction.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif warmly welcomed President Japarov and noted the positive economic achievements of Kyrgyzstan under his leadership. He emphasized the need for joint efforts for the prosperity of both countries.
According to Sharif, with the successful implementation of joint initiatives, the countries can significantly increase the volume of mutual trade to $200 million in the coming years.
President Japarov, for his part, expressed confidence that the negotiations would yield positive results and activate further cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan.
One of the topics discussed was joint work on the development of transportation infrastructure. Meeting participants noted the importance of implementing railway projects, including the construction of a corridor between China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, which should enhance the transit potential of the region.
It was also emphasized that both countries are eager to expand cooperation through the use of Pakistani seaports, such as Karachi and Gwadar, which will create new opportunities for Kyrgyzstan to access international markets.
Additionally, the regional energy project CASA-1000 was discussed, which plays a strategic role in ensuring energy security and integrating the infrastructure of Central and South Asia.
