In 2026, Kyrgyzstan plans to obtain a quota for the duty-free import of 15,000 electric vehicles. This initiative has been presented for public discussion on the platform of the Eurasian Economic Commission, which is a supranational body for the EAEU countries.

It is important to note that if this initiative is approved, electric vehicles will only be available for purchase and use by citizens of Kyrgyzstan.

It is also worth reminding that from 2022 to 2025, Kyrgyzstan already had a quota for the import of electric vehicles, and the limit of 10,000 cars for 2025 was fully exhausted back in September.
