According to the latest changes that came into effect on October 20, 2025, it has been clarified that single vehicles include only those cars, motorcycles, and trailers that have been recognized by the Eurasian Economic Commission as intended for personal use, notes Ulysmedia.kz.
The approved list includes:
- passenger cars (except those intended for medical purposes);
- motorcycles, mopeds, motor scooters, ATVs, snowmobiles, amphibious vehicles, and other types of transport not intended for use on public roads (except racing cars);
- minibuses and light trucks weighing up to 5 tons.
In order for a vehicle to be legally used in the market, it must meet the established requirements of the technical regulation. A necessary document for this is the Certificate of Safety of Vehicle Design (SBKTS), which is required for customs clearance, obtaining an electronic vehicle passport (PTS), and paying the recycling fee. Citizens will not be able to obtain the SBKTS for cars and motorcycles that are not on the approved list, which will result in a ban on their customs clearance, registration, and further use both in Kazakhstan and in other EAEU countries.
