In Kyrgyzstan, 837 vehicles, including passenger and cargo cars, were imported in the first 6 months of 2018.
The majority of imported vehicles were cars, vans, and pickups based on passenger cars, as well as cargo vehicles manufactured not earlier than 2013.
As of the beginning of 2018, a total of 1,232,523 vehicles, including tractors, were registered in Kyrgyzstan.
With the reduction of customs duties on vehicles imported by individuals starting from July 2018, it will become cheaper to bring in "fresh" cars.
For example, a 2015 Lexus LX with a 5.7-liter engine previously had a customs clearance fee of $3.2 per cubic centimeter, totaling $18,240 for the car. After the tariff reduction, the fee will be $1.8 per cubic centimeter, bringing the total customs clearance cost to $10,260. Thus, the owner will save $7,980.
