"Immortal Regiment – Kyrgyzstan" - full readiness for the march on May 9
The first march of the "Immortal Regiment" in Kyrgyzstan took place in Osh in 2013. Students from the Orthodox school "Svetoch" marched through the streets of the southern capital on May 9 with portraits of their veteran grandfathers. The memory march, which was attended only by children, became the central news of all local media. The following year, the authorities of Osh supported the popular initiative: the memorial march of the citizens was held at a high level and became an annual event.
In Bishkek, this event became truly popular and numerous only in 2015. However, the very first march convincingly proved that the "Immortal Regiment" is the best event of all possible on this day. About 3,000 residents of Bishkek participated in the first memory march, and the following year, the number increased fivefold!
BISHKEK
Gathering on May 9 at 9 AM at the Southern Gates of the city, opposite Victory Park. The movement of the columns will begin at 10 AM.
Route: a distance of 6.6 kilometers from Victory Park along Baytik Baatyr Street to Abdrakhmanov (this is part of the former Soviet street), a right turn onto Frunze Street and the march to Victory Square. After a Minute of Silence, there will be a concert in which everyone is welcome to participate.
