Eight Hours That Saved a Life

Talas doctors waited for a vascular surgeon from Bishkek and prevented a fatal outcome
Doctor Marip Ibraimov from the Bakai-Ata territorial hospital (Talas region) saved a patient by compressing his bleeding superior vena cava for eight hours, reported Elzar Toktonazarov, a surgeon at the National Hospital, on his Facebook page.
The patient was hospitalized on February 21 at 8:00 PM with a stab wound to the chest sustained during a drunken brawl. He was immediately sent for surgery, and a vascular surgeon, Junus Akyshev, was urgently called from the capital via air ambulance. He arrived by 4:00 AM and successfully stitched the wound.
According to medical staff, the patient's condition is currently assessed as stable.
Elena Bayalinova, a consultant for the Ministry of Health's press service, shared the news of the man's rescue in Bakai-Ata and urged social media users not to insult doctors.
