The World Nomad Games were attended by 45,000 people, of which every tenth was a foreigner. This was reported on Facebook by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic – Director of the Tourism Department, Maksat Chakiyev.
“According to the Tourism Department, the Games were attended by up to 45,000 people. More than 15,000 spectators were present at the opening ceremony at the racetrack. Of these, 10% (4-4.5 thousand people) were foreign tourists,” M. Chakiyev wrote on his social media page. According to his calculations, fans and spectators of the Games brought nearly $10 million to the budget of Kyrgyzstan.
“Foreign tourists (brought in revenue) – $1.8 million. Each tourist spends an average of $400 per trip (during their stay at the Games). Domestic tourists – $8.1 million. Each domestic tourist spends an average of $200 per trip. The total revenue for the country and the Issyk-Kul region from the Games is $9.9 million. I think this is quite good for the first Games, given that 102 million soms were allocated for their organization,” M. Chakiyev believes.
