In his address, the president emphasized:

Dear compatriots!

Friends of Kyrgyzstan around the world!

Today we celebrate the first International Snow Leopard Day. For me, this is a great pride, as the initiative originated right here in Kyrgyzstan and has gained recognition on the international stage!

A year ago, our people, who are closely connected to the majestic mountains and this magnificent animal, proposed an important idea. And the world heard us! The unanimous approval of the UN resolution proclaiming this day is not only a diplomatic success but also a confirmation that caring for nature knows no borders, and humanity can unite.

The snow leopard is an integral part of Kyrgyz nature. It is a symbol of our high mountains, a protector of inaccessible peaks, and an embodiment of our freedom, resilience, and devotion to our homeland. Like our people, it does not abandon its icy heights even in the most difficult times. We, the descendants of a great nation, draw strength to protect our Motherland and traditions, remaining true to our roots.

Our proposal to the UN was a logical step, as it concerns not only a rare species that is endangered but also a people that is part of this nature. Protecting the snow leopard means protecting ourselves. Preserving its habitat means safeguarding water sources for a third of the planet's population!

Today's event is not just an opportunity to admire the beauty of the snow leopard. It is a call to humanity to be responsible and caring. We appeal to all countries and peoples of the world to unite efforts in protecting this unique animal and its fragile ecosystem.

On this day, Kyrgyzstan leads a global campaign dedicated to the guardian of our mountains — the snow leopard. Their survival is inextricably linked to our ecosystems, heritage, and future.

On October 23, we symbolically dedicate 23 minutes to outdoor physical activity in honor of the snow leopard.

Protecting nature is our sport, and defending the snow leopard is our common victory!

Let’s preserve this invaluable heritage together!

Happy holiday!

Happy International Snow Leopard Day!
