An Amazing Story About the Kok-Boru and Many Interesting Facts About Kyrgyzstan Will Be Shown to the Whole World

Recently, the filming of the documentary "The New Silk Road" was completed, which will tell about the countries connected by the legendary route.
As noted by the well-known producer Stanislav Solovkin, who is recognized in the international media community and directly participated in the filming process, working in Kyrgyzstan was quite challenging but at the same time incredibly interesting.
“In just under two weeks of filming, we traveled over five thousand kilometers. Believe me, we prepared thoroughly for the shoot, and I can say for sure: no one has filmed Kyrgyzstan like this, no one has shown it like this. A unique international team of professionals from various countries around the world worked on the filming: Russia, China, the United Kingdom, India, Singapore, Taiwan, and Italy. During our trip across the country, our group shot 120 hours of unique video material. Just recently, a no less challenging part began simultaneously in China and Singapore - editing. The directors will have to select the most colorful, bright, and impressive moments,” the director shared.
Stanislav Solovkin revealed a little secret about what viewers will see in this film. They can expect a story about a unique small hydroelectric power station in Sosnovka, a plot about a project that allows residents of the most remote and hard-to-reach villages to access libraries. Additionally, viewers will learn about the development of the Central Asian University in Naryn.
One of the central stories of the film will be about the ancient yet modern national Kyrgyz sport – kok-boru.
“The filming crew spent three amazing days with the Borulu team, which took fourth place in the kok-boru tournament dedicated to Victory Day. This will be a fantastically beautiful, dramatic, heroic, and touching story about a sport in which Kyrgyzstan undoubtedly holds the top position in the world. The main character of the plot became one of the best players in the country, Mirlan Srazhdinov. It should be noted that during the tournament he fought like a true warrior and sustained a serious injury. We won’t reveal all the secrets, but as a teaser, we can say: at the request of the filming crew, Mirlan brought his family to the competition. It turned out that his wife and three children would see a real game for the first time,” the director recounted.
After the tournament and the rehabilitation period, the film crew presented him and his family with a modern computer as a gift.
Director Stanislav Solovkin particularly noted that throughout his work he has filmed in 70 countries, but he has never received such a warm welcome anywhere.
“We would like to express our immense gratitude to everyone who helped us in creating this project. A special thank you goes to the president of the Kok-boru Federation, Kanat Isayev. He makes incredible efforts aimed at developing this traditional and spectacular sport. And it is clear that this is not done for sporting glory or financial gain. After all, kok-boru is one of many national symbols of the Kyrgyz Republic, a legacy of our ancestors that every citizen of the country can and should be proud of,” said Stanislav Solovkin.
The director noted with admiration that the head of the kok-boru federation fully understands how important it is to promote this sport and showcase it on the international stage.
“Thanks in large part to his efforts, we hope that in the eyes of the global community, Kyrgyzstan will manage to overcome the stereotype of a 'producer of revolutions.' Your small but beautiful country has much more serious reasons for pride, and kok-boru is a testament to that,” emphasized Stanislav Solovkin.
The film about Kyrgyzstan within the framework of the "New Silk Road" project will be shown on popular foreign television channels such as BBC, Discovery, and National Geographic. Additionally, there is information that the creators of the film are negotiating to show the film on one of the Chinese state television channels. Thus, besides the multi-million audience of these channels, the film will be seen by nearly a billion people. The film's release is planned for 2016.
