Kyrgyz State Circus

Circus in Bishkek on Frunze Street
One of the many attractions of Bishkek is the State Circus, located on Frunze Street.
It was built in 1976 according to the design of renowned architects L. Segal, B. Shardin, A. Nezhurin, and D. Leontovich. The establishment was opened on the initiative and with the funds of local authorities, as the circus was one of the most popular forms of entertainment for children in the Soviet Union.
Before the construction of this building of the Circus, the previous two were located in other places, namely at this site, in the market square (there was a large "Green" market nearby, now the site is the "Victory" square), there was a fenced area where wandering circus performers once gave their shows.

The first performance in the new building was given by Kyrgyz artists two years later, in 1978. Today, all 1,089 seats in the auditorium are filled during performances by residents and guests of the capital.
Every weekend, the best artists of the Kyrgyz circus perform in the arena, as well as creative teams from leading circuses of the CIS countries and abroad.
In 1995, a performance titled "Lion Tamers" was showcased at the Bishkek State Circus, gaining recognition far beyond the borders of Kyrgyzstan.
In 2005, the establishment underwent reconstruction, during which the upholstery in the audience areas was changed, new flooring was laid in the arena, and new instruments for the orchestra were installed. Currently, the circus actively hosts performances, sometimes featuring world-class stars. This place is perfect for an exciting family outing.

What our circus offers its audience today:
Unique acts featuring trained animals: dogs, horses, predators.
Performances by acrobats and aerial gymnasts.
Real magic and wonder in the acts of illusionists and magicians.
Funny clown performances with the best artists in the country.
Additionally, in the circus foyer, there is an opportunity to take memorable photos with unique circus animals and circus artists.
A trip to the circus is always a bright, memorable event for a child. For an adult, it is a few hours of returning to childhood.
