The title translates to: "The 'Night at the Museum-2014' event took place in Bishkek."

The event "Night at the Museum-2014" took place in Bishkek

Last weekend, the State Historical Museum opened its doors with a special program - a night event.

In general, "Night of Museums" is an international event aimed at showcasing the resources, opportunities, and potential of modern museums and attracting youth to them. Today, almost all countries have embraced this idea. Bishkek did not remain on the sidelines.

That evening, all tours for visitors were free, and the museum was open until midnight.

In the foyer, creative groups from the country welcomed the citizens with dances and songs: "Retro," "Kara jorgo," "Taberik," and even artists from the state circus. Indian students showcased a real dance show with dynamic movements, rhythms, and bright costumes. Guests were treated to national sweets, and everyone who wished could have henna designs - mehendi applied to their wrists. There was even a line formed for this.

On the opposite side of the museum, Chinese culture was showcased. An exhibition of the "Shadow Theater" from the Xi'an Museum in China was set up here. The actors had already left, but the audience could see interesting paintings created with special plant-based dyes on sheep and camel skins: "A Date in the Garden," "Hunting for the Green Snake," "General Guan Yu in a Tent."

History enthusiasts and simply concerned citizens did not miss the exhibition of vintage technology. Here, one could see tube radios, telephone sets, lighting devices, typewriters, clocks from 1920-1980, and the first televisions. This extensive collection of antiques was created through the initiative of a capital enthusiast, Alymkul Tashlanov.

Nearby, a rich collection of badges and medals from Bishkek resident Leonid Shafir was presented. It is surprising that so many award attributes were produced in Kyrgyzstan!

Specifically for the event, museum staff prepared an exhibition titled "Kyrgyzstan on the Great Silk Road," which particularly interested the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Kamila Talieva. When it got dark, everyone who wished could look at the stars and planets through a telescope set up at the museum entrance by staff from the Jusup Balasagyn National University.

The event also took place at the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts. However, there, "Night at the Museum" began for some reason at 10 AM on Saturday and continued until 9 PM. At different times, guests were greeted by living statues from the ON Pantomime Theater, and children drew in sand on special tables. Outdoor workshops on origami, drawing, and sculpting with clay were held. Professional artists could draw portraits. And, of course, numerous exhibitions could be viewed all at once.

At the official opening at 5 PM, guests were welcomed by designer and host Assol Moldokmatova, a KVN team from the Kyrgyz Academy of Education, the dance ensemble "Min kyial," and singer Ruslan Botobaev.

The house-museum of Mikhail Frunze also celebrated International Museum Day on the same day: Sunday, May 18. A documentary-illustrative exhibition titled "Museums of the World and Kyrgyzstan" was prepared for the event, featuring 12 stands. Young musicians and teachers from Children's Music School No. 2 held a concert.

On that day, the Frunze Museum was visited not only by numerous residents of Bishkek but also by military personnel from the Ministry of Defense and even foreign diplomats.
