The circus group "Antre" has been operating since 1993, so many performances have taken place during this time. Audiences are amazed by equilibrists on ladders, circus performers on unicycles, acrobats, jugglers, and equilibrists on fabric. And no performance is complete without clowning, lassos, and soap bubbles. Circus artists are always a very close-knit team – a single whole, and therefore they agreed to answer questions only together.

- Dear artists, tell us, where can we see such performances if you do not perform at the State Circus?

- Why not, we also work at the State Circus. We also perform at various events, including city-scale ones. We are frequent guests in orphanages and constantly give many charitable performances for children with disabilities. We even participate in government celebrations.

- Costumes play an important role in the circus, tell us, who is your stylist?

- We are. The main thing is that they are comfortable to work in. Every little detail matters. Once, there was an incident when a shoelace came undone and got caught in the unicycle. The act could not be completed, so we try to sew costumes in a way that they do not let the artists down, while also being very bright.

- Who comes up with new acts?

- They appear thanks to our joint efforts. We review old popular clown sketches and make some adjustments, excluding some things and adding others. However, the female members of the team refine the old acts, changing the music and costumes. The tricks themselves are polished over the years.

- You captivate audiences not only in Kyrgyzstan?

- Indeed, if we talk about our republic, we have been everywhere. In the Osh, Jalal-Abad, Issyk-Kul, and Chui regions. We also travel to Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, France, and Russia.

- The modern audience is hard to surprise, but we believe that the circus will always be popular. Why do you think that is?

- It’s because many interesting people work here, and you can see a lot of exciting tricks and spectacular acts, including flights, dances, and falls. Audiences also witness new directorial productions on various themes. We also pay attention to various thematic performances. Circus! This word is associated with bright childhood memories for each of us: the unusual costumes of clowns, incredible acrobatic tricks of the artists, and mind-blowing acts involving animals. It is here, in the circus, that a person can fully demonstrate their highest mastery, overcoming the most complex, seemingly incredible obstacles. As Vladimir Ilyich Lenin said: “Of all the arts, the most important for us are cinema and circus.”

- Tell us, what is the difference between the circus on stage and the circus under the dome? Perhaps during a performance in a more intimate setting, the responsibility to the audience increases?

- In fact, the responsibility to the audience is enormous everywhere. For an artist, there is not much difference in terms of the audience, whether you perform in a restaurant, on stage, or in the arena of the State Circus. But there are differences in terms of atmosphere. The arena is like a magical circle; it requires more loud phrases in conversational genres. In other acts, there are more broad and voluminous movements. When a performance takes place in intimate settings, for small children who sit close to the action, we avoid bright makeup and speak not too loudly. So as not to scare them with either makeup or voice. In the circus, on the contrary, the makeup is a bit different, so it can be seen from afar. This is the main difference.

- To be a circus artist, do you need to be a special person?

- Yes, of course. It is very difficult to learn this; you need to have a certain inner state. You must be hardworking, patient, love circus art, try yourself in different genres, and dedicate at least five hours a day to training and rehearsals. A large number of circus artists come from sports. An artist prepares for days to give the audience a celebration.

- How many artists are currently working in the circus, and what acts can they demonstrate?

- In fact, to keep the audience interested, many artists work here: jugglers, bicycle performers, acrobats, eccentrics, and equilibrists. They prepare aerial acts, contortion, antipodism, hoops, and much more. The main members of the troupe currently are Sergey Efimov, Elena Zhiganova, Anastasia Borisenko, Stanislav Anishchenko, Olga Efimova, Nuraiym Moldomamytova, as well as Andrey and Ekaterina Sabyanin.

- Why do you think the circus can bring so many positive emotions and take us back to childhood?

- Because the Circus is joy! A sense of celebration! Our main audience is children. Children love watching clowns, acrobats, and spectacular acts; they empathize with us and worry about every trick the artist performs. Adults want to return to childhood because they experienced as many positive emotions in their childhood as their children do when they come to the circus.

Various famous troupes constantly come to our city on tour. The performances are often sold out, but still, our domestic artists are closer and dearer to us, as they can turn the most ordinary day into a holiday. And for this, it is not necessary to buy tickets to the circus, as the cheerful clowns and equilibrists of the "Antre" team can easily say: “We bring the circus to you!”
