
The Chess World Cup will take place from October 31 to November 27, 2025, in Goa, India, gathering 206 chess players from over 80 countries. Among the strongest participants in the tournament are players such as Anish Giri (Netherlands), Levon Aronian, Wesley So, Hans Niemann (USA), Vincent Keymer (Germany), Richard Rapport (Hungary), Wei Yi (China), and Nodirbek Abdusattorov (Uzbekistan). The Indian team will feature outstanding chess players: Gukesh Dommaraju, Arjun Erigaisi, Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, Vidit Gujrathi, and Nihal Sarin, as well as the only woman in the open tournament - Divya Deshmukh, the winner of the Women's World Cup 2025. Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura will not participate in this tournament.
From Kyrgyzstan, Eldiyar Orozbaev will compete in the World Cup, holding the first place in the national chess ranking. Before leaving for the competition, he received support from the head coach of the national team, Esenbek Bazakechov, senior coach Nurdin uulu Sardarbek, and representative of the State Agency Kazibek Moldazhiyev. Moldazhiyev met with Orozbaev, expressing confidence in his successful performance on the international stage and wished him good luck. The State Agency allocated 100,000 soms for the athlete's participation in the tournament.

In 2025, he became the champion of Kyrgyzstan in classical chess, rapid, and blitz, and also topped the national FIDE rating in all three disciplines.
In 2024, he managed to achieve his first grandmaster norm by winning a strong open tournament in Moscow.
His current rating is 2375 Elo; to obtain the title of grandmaster, he needs to achieve two more norms and reach a rating of 2500 Elo. If successful, he will become the first grandmaster from Kyrgyzstan.
The 2025 World Cup will be an important opportunity for Orozbaev to showcase himself on the international chess stage. The prize fund for the tournament is 2 million dollars, and the top three prize winners will earn the right to participate in the 2026 Candidates Tournament, which will pave the way to the World Championship.
