Homemade alcohol in Kyrgyzstan has been banned

The tax service is tightening control over sellers of alcoholic beverages

In Kyrgyzstan, there is a decrease in the activity of producers and traders of homemade alcohol. This is reported by social media users.

According to information received from users, tax inspectors have begun conducting raids aimed at stopping the production, storage, and distribution of alcoholic products. As a result, official sales at markets, fairs, and among private producers have significantly decreased.

It is worth noting that since September 1, 2022, a complete state monopoly on the production, import, storage, and sale of ethyl alcohol, which is the basis for all alcoholic products, has been introduced in the country. The exclusive right to this process belongs to the "Kara-Baltin Distillery," which is intended to combat counterfeit products; however, this measure has caused dissatisfaction among business representatives.
