In Kazakhstan, they want to ban children from using social networks

The main task is to protect against dangerous and illegal content

In Kazakhstan, it is planned to prohibit the use of social networks for users under the age of 16, as reported by local media.

This initiative is contained in the draft Law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts on Online Platforms and Mass Media," developed by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic.

Under this law, it is proposed to exclude most online platforms, such as video hosting services and social networks, leaving minors the ability to register and use only messengers.

The developers of the law emphasize in the explanatory note that the main goal of this measure is to protect children from dangerous and illegal content that may be disseminated on the internet.

It is worth noting that Australia has become one of the first countries to adopt similar restrictions for children on the internet, setting an age limit of 16 years for the use of social networks. Similar measures are also being developed in several European countries and Russia.
