The Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic has received a submission from the president regarding the draft Law "On Amendments to the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic".
This draft proposes to amend part 1 of article 25 of the Constitution by adding the possibility of applying the death penalty as an exceptional measure of punishment for serious crimes related to sexual violence against children, as well as for murders associated with rape.
