“Some internet resources and social networks have spread distorted interpretations of the draft law 'On Amendments to the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, and the Civil Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.' We remind you that according to the Constitution, the seizure of property is possible only by court decision,” the prosecutor's office stated.
“The changes proposed by the draft law are aimed at improving the legal mechanisms that allow the state to confiscate property acquired illegally by the accused, including those who are wanted, solely based on a court decision made during a full judicial proceeding,” the agency added.
