In Ulyanovsk and several other settlements in the Ulyanovsk region, authorities have decided to permanently disable mobile internet amid threats of drone attacks. This was reported by the publication "Meduza".

According to representatives of the local government, this decision to cease mobile internet operations was made by federal authorities near facilities with special designation. Previously, such restrictions were imposed only during an immediate threat, but now they have become permanent. Additionally, authorities announced the expansion of security zones around strategically important facilities, which has resulted in some residential areas, office buildings, and social institutions also falling under the restrictions. Information about the locations of mobile internet outages is not disclosed for security reasons.

The Minister of Digital Development of the Ulyanovsk region, Oleg Yagfarov, noted that these measures will remain in effect until the federal center makes other decisions.

Authorities also promised that residents of "blind zones" would be able to access wired internet, with the installation of the necessary equipment to be funded by the property owners themselves.
