As reported by Kaktus.media, serious mudslides were also observed in this same village in August of last year, leading to significant destruction.
Local residents claim: "After the heavy rains, a decision was made to dig ditches and install bridges. However, the ditches were only dug up to the lower part of the road, leaving them at the gates of the residents. When it rained on October 29, water from the ditches rushed down and flooded the houses. Is this normal? Who should be responsible for this? How can we compensate for moral and material damage? Now no one wants to take responsibility; the village administration blames the road builders, and they, in turn, blame someone else. Why were no measures taken before the autumn rains when everyone knew they were coming? Why wait until disaster strikes?"
In the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Kaktus.media confirmed information about the flooding in the area of Baktybek and Mambetkazy streets in the rural district of Sadyr-Ake. The agency indicated that this section is under the jurisdiction of the village administration, however, emergency services personnel arrived at the scene and eliminated the consequences of the flood using a water pump.
According to the ministry, there are no casualties.
The head of the district, Nurdin Moldokmatov, added that the Chinese company China Road is engaged in the construction of the Korumdu - Balbay road. He noted that the road surface has already been asphalted, but the installation of drains along the edges has not yet been completed.
"Water from the road, flowing due to the lack of drains, flooded the houses after the rain. The company promised to finish the installation within a month," he said.
